I love the metaphors in here. Particular powerful for me, is "but you were not ready, for the silence." Not just silence from observers, but also from deep within oneself. People have to learn to craft their own opinions via their journeys.
Great poem. Substack rocks because where else are you going to find someone referencing Jacques Ellul? I’m reading his book the Humiliation of the Word… not for the faint of heart lol

This was the first book I read by him! It's filled with highlights. Ever paragraph was like a gut punch. I'll check out Humilitation of the World.
Awesome awesome awesome. Sail out over the dark waters. I need to read “Propaganda!”
Thank you 😊 I was a bit blown away by this book. To say it's "hard hitting" is an understatement.
This takes you to another place. Awesome. Thank you.
Thanks Bev! Always appreciate your comments ☺️
Enjoyed this voyage in the bioluminescent vessel !
I've seen these things first hand, it's incredibly trippy. Thanks!
bioluminescent - what a word.
The explanation at the end struck me the most if you don’t mind my saying. Thinking for yourself is too much work 😛
It is exhausting.
