On July 28th, 1945 the Empire was struck — three air crew and eleven people died. On September 11th, 2001 the empire was struck — thirty thousand committed suicide.
Context:
I was in the U.S. military during 9/11, was deployed to Afghanistan, and struggled with the topic above. I explore antiwar poetry to offer a lens to those who lets say, missed out on this experience.

Thanks Simon. I was in the military at the time, was in Afghanistan, and I'll just say struggled with this issue. There's all sorts of touch points for me here sadly. Maybe I should add that context to the post.
