Glad you were able to give yourself a break. You've been working hard on all this poetry and tapes. But work should also be playful, or have some moments of rest. So neat you have duel citizenship and such an intimate connection to the culture.

Thanks, Justin. Yeah, it's good to be back. These trips are a bit like resetting your router every once and a while. Occasionally, for no logical reason, the device just gets stuck and it needs to be unplugged and plugged back it for it to function properly.

I am glad it was an easy reset and didn't require a complete hard drive defrag.

Yes, those are painful :)

I’m glad you had a great trip and came home with an awesome poem to boot! I would love to learn more about the country someday! Maybe you could do a full on article about your adventures and some of the people sometime! I always like to learn about people and how they live in other places!

I thought about doing a kind of haibun travelogue perhaps. I have to study the form a bit more. @Ann Collins did a beautiful one recently iirc. Maybe when my film comes back I will be inspired (or not depending on the results! hahah).

Ooh that could be fun! I'll stay tuned :D

Welcome home - I've been traveling as well. It's like stepping out of time, until we step back in.

Cool castle. Did you get to go inside?

Josh Datko's avatar

Yes, you can go all the way to that top tower there! It’s quite a view (and a hike!)

Welcome back! Glad you had some time to explore over there. Hope you had a wander or few while you were overseas.

Yeah it was nice! The time shift is always painful, but I’ve learned to manage it now. Thanks!

Love to hear you were snapping some film!

I love these types of poems with the imaginary narrator. Often I get these out of the blue, like some crazed person fighting in my head as I write down their ramblings.

I’m glad it was that and not the Borat meme of being “king in the castle!” :)
